Agia Galini bedeutet „Heilige Windstille“. Das ist wörtlich zu nehmen, liegt der romantische, kleine Ort doch in einem Tal von Bergen umgeben, die ihn vor dem Nordwind schützen.

Im Sommer finden Sie hier einen vielseitigen, aber nicht überlaufenen Ferienort vor. Beim Bummeln durch die gemütlichen, autofreien Gassen des Ortskerns, (es führt nur eine Stichstraße zum Parkplatz am Hafen!), laden hier und am Strand viele Restaurants, Cafes und Nachtlokale zum Verweilen ein.

Agia Galini means "holy calm". That is to be taken verbal, because the romantic, small place nevertheless is situated in a valley  surrounded by mountains, which protect it against the north wind.

In the summer you find a multi-purpose, but not overcrowded, resort here. When strolling by the cosy, carfree lanes of the local centre, (there is only one street to the parking place at the port!), invite here  and at the beach many restaurants, cafes and bars the guests to stay.

In den ebenfalls zahlreichen Souvenirläden und auch in kleinen Supermärkten werden die hervorragenden Naturprodukte der Umgebung, zum Teil direkt vom Hersteller, angeboten.

Am kleinen Hafen können Sie bei den Fischern frisch gefangene Fische kaufen, oder ihnen einfach nur bei der Arbeit zusehen. Es fahren auch täglich kleine Ausflugsboote zum nicht allzu weit entfernten Prevelli-Palmenstrand oder zur Insel Gavdos. Auch Angelausflüge können Sie hier buchen. Ein Spaziergang auf der Hafenmauer bei Sonnenuntergang ist ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis.

Ein liebevoll angelegter, üppig blühender Garten säumt den Weg vom Ort zum Strand. Hier können Sie fast das ganze Jahr durch im klaren Lybischen Meer baden oder einfach „nur“ in der Sonne liegen.

In the numerous souvernir shops and also in small supermarkets the outstanding natural products of the surrounding area are offered, partially directly by the manufacturer.

At the small port you can buy  freshly catched fishes , or just watch the fishermen at work. Daily small trip boats drive to the closeby Prevelli palmbeach or to the island Gavdos. Also fishing trips you can book here. A walk on the wall at thr harbour by sunset is a completely special experience.

A very nice botanical garden borders the way from the village to the beach. Here you can swim almost the whole year through in the clear Lybian Sea  or simply "only" relax in the sun.

Hier werden auch von Giannis, dem Eigentümer der Studios und des Acrogiali-Restaurants mit Wassersportbar, diverse Wassersport- möglichkeiten angeboten. Für Kinder dürfte wohl eine Fahrt auf der Banane oder auf einem der Ringe die Attraktion sein, was allerdings auch manchem Erwachsenen noch viel Freude macht. Außerdem werden Wasserski, Jetski und Tretboote angeboten.

Wenn man sich entschließt, sein Abendessen in einer der typisch griechischen Strandtavernen einzunehmen, wird man mit einem zauberhaften Farbenspiel belohnt, das der Sonnenuntergang auf der gegenüberliegenden Küste verursacht.

Here also watersports are offered by Giannis, the owner  of the studios and the Acrogiali restaurant with watersportbar.  For children a ride on the banana or on one of the rings might be probably the attraction, which makes  also still much fun for some adults. In addition water ski, jet ski and paddles are offered.

If you decide to take your dinner in one of the typically Greek beach taverns you will be rewarded with a charmful color play, which the sunset causes on the opposite coast.
